Knife Attack Injures Three Women on Paris Metro

(MENAFN) Three female passengers were hurt following a knife attack carried out by a man on Line 3 of the Paris underground on Friday, according to a media outlet.

The newspaper stated that a man wielding a blade drew his weapon and wounded three women at separate stops along the route linking the communes of Bagnolet and Levallois-Perret. The information was confirmed by the media outlet, which referenced a police source.

Emergency responders attended to the injured individuals at the locations of the incidents, and the women were reported to have suffered only light wounds.

Authorities later detained the alleged assailant at his residence. Police indicated that he is of Malian origin and was born in 2000.

Investigators have reportedly excluded a terrorist explanation. Law enforcement officials believe the incident was likely carried out by a mentally unstable or psychologically vulnerable person.
